4. Urges the specialized agencies and other organizations and programmes of the United Nations system to continue and intensify their support for, and cooperation in the activities of, the Latin American Economic System;

Urges the specialized agencies and other organizations and programmes of the United Nations system to cooperate with the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community in order to initiate, maintain and increase consultations and programmes with the Caribbean Community and its associated institutions in the attainment of their objectives;

Successive General Assembly resolutions on operational activities for development since 1987 contain explicit provisions requiring organizations and programmes of the United Nations system to achieve, as far as practicable, integrated field structures and services without additional costs to the organizations and to the developing countries.
١٦٨ - منذ عام ١٩٨٧، وقرارات الجمعية العامة المتلاحقة بشأن اﻷنشطة التنفيذية من أجل التنمية تتضمن أحكاما صريحة تطلب من مؤسسات وبرامج منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة أن تتوصل، قدر المستطاع عمليا، الى أن تكون الهياكل والخدمات الميدانية متكاملة دون أن تتكبد المنظمات أو البلدان النامية تكاليف اضافية.

Moreover, in paragraph 11, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to establish an ad hoc secretariat unit, including personnel of the relevant organizations and programmes of the United Nations system, to assist in the preparatory process and the substantive work of the Preparatory Committee.
