The OIC has welcomed Djibouti's decision to withdraw its forces to the status quo ante in accordance with the request by the Security Council in its official statement dated 12 June 2008 as adopted by the fact-finding mission.

وفي البيان الرئاسي S/PRST/2008/20 المؤرخ 12 حزيران/يونيه 2008، أعرب مجلس الأمن عن قلقه الشديد إزاء هذه الحوادث و " دان العمل العسكري الذي نفذته إريتريا " و " دعا الطرفين إلى الالتزام بوقف إطلاق النار، وحثهما، وبخاصة إريتريا، على التحلي بأقصى درجات ضبط النفس، وعلى سحب القوات إلى مواقعها السابقة " .

In its statement to the press of 25 June 2008, the Council expressed regret that " Eritrea has not answered the calls sent by the 12 June presidential statement " ; and members of the Council further reiterated " their call to the parties, in particular Eritrea, to withdraw its forces to the status quo ante " .
كما أسف المجلس في بيانه الصحافي المؤرخ 25 حزيران/يونيه 2008 " لعدم استجابة إريتريا للدعوات التي وردت في البيان الرئاسي الصادر في 12 حزيران/يونيه " ؛ كما " كرر دعوته للطرفين، ولا سيما إريتريا، إلى سحب قواتهما إلى مواقعها السابقة " .

On 14 January, the Council unanimously adopted resolution 1862 (2009), by which it expressed its deep concern about the continuing tense border dispute between Djibouti and Eritrea, urged them to resolve it peacefully, and made some specific demands on Eritrea, including that Eritrea withdraw its forces and all their equipment to the position of the status quo ante no later than five weeks after the adoption of the resolution.
في 14 كانون الثاني/يناير، اتخذ المجلس بالإجماع القرار 1862 (2009) الذي أعرب فيه عن قلقه البالغ إزاء استمرار حالة التوتر في النزاع الحدودي بين جيبوتي وإريتريا، وحثّهما على حله سلمياً، وطالب إريتريا باتخاذ خطوات محددة تشمل سحب قواتها وجميع معداتها إلى مواقعها السابقة في مدة أقصاها خمسة أسابيع على اتخاذ القرار.
