My Adviser has initiated informal consultations with troop- and police-contributing countries on the handling of cases of misconduct on the part of United Nations peacekeeping personnel, in lieu of the request by the Special Committee to convene a meeting with troop- and police-contributing countries to develop a common understanding and agreed procedures to handle cases of alleged misconduct by United Nations peacekeeping personnel.
