Mr. MOUYAMA (Gabon), having thanked the members of the Committee for the constructive interest they had shown in his country’s belated initial report, said that Gabon was wholeheartedly committed to the principles enshrined in the Covenant and would do its utmost to meet its reporting obligations under article 40.

20. Mr. MAMBOUNDOU MOUYAMA (Gabon) said that police officers were educated in quality schools, not only in Africa but elsewhere in the world, and that, resources permitting, all modern investigatory methods were used, in particular laboratory analyses.
