14. Mr. Miyet (Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations) said that the United Nations had recently held a solemn ceremony on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of peacekeeping at which a draft declaration had been adopted commemorating those who had served in peacekeeping operations and the first Dag Hammarskjöld medals had been awarded.
