The Committee recalled its general mandate, under rule 160 of the rules of procedure of the General Assembly, to the effect that it should advise the General Assembly on the apportionment of the expenses of the Organization among Member States broadly according to capacity to pay, as well as the requests in resolution 58/1 B and the results of its earlier reviews.

5. The Committee recalled that rule 160 of the rules of procedure of the General Assembly called for the Committee to advise the Assembly on the apportionment of the expenses of the United Nations under Article 17 of the Charter.
