In his statement, Mr. Holum reiterated the United States commitment to negotiate a global fissile material production cut-off agreement, and emphasized that such an agreement should be negotiated in the Conference on Disarmament.

As the first part of the 1994 session comes to a close, I would like to echo Director Holum's statement on the Conference on Disarmament as the negotiating forum for the cut-off convention.
