5. The Advisory Committee further notes that, on the basis of the exchange rate of Sw F 1.575 to $ 1, the provision requested for the United Nations contribution for the biennium 2004 - 2005 would amount to $20,591,600, which, as indicated in the report of the Secretary-General (ibid., para. 13.13), is $346,400 less than the figure provided in the budget outline.

6. The goal of the revised programmatic approach, as indicated in the report of the Secretary-General (ibid., para. 3), is to provide better definition and focus within the broad areas of concentration identified by the Foundation, while promoting greater inter-agency consultation in the definition of opportunities to be pursued by the United Nations system with funding from the Foundation.

Though there had been strong growth in the economies in transition, as indicated in the report of the Secretary-General on integration of the economies in transition into the world economy (A/63/256), they remained vulnerable owing to their limited diversification of domestic production sectors and high dependence on a few export commodities of low value added content, and would therefore be affected by the global economic slowdown.

As indicated in the report of the Secretary-General in the proposed budget of UNOMIG for the period from 1 July 2001 to 30 June 2002, the proposed budget for the maintenance of the Mission during that time period amounts to $26,994,600 gross ($25,382,700 net) (A/55/768, paras. 1 and 2 and table 1).

An amount of $825,000 was reprogrammed to the next mandate period beginning 1 August 1995, as indicated in the Secretary-General's report on the financing of UNMIH of 22 August 1995 (A/50/363 and Corr.1) as well as in the report of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (ACABQ) (A/50/488).
