12. Also requests the Secretary-General to continue to provide support to the Institute, particularly in setting up the new structure and working method for the Institute, by encouraging voluntary contributions to the Institute and its special projects;

3. At its 45th meeting, on 12 November, the Committee held a discussion on the report of the Secretary-General on the new structure and working method of the International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women (A/54/500) (see A/C.3/54/SR.45).
٣ - وعقدت اللجنة في جلستها ٤٥ المعقودة في ١٢ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر مناقشة بشأن تقرير اﻷمين العام عن نوع الهيكل وأسلوب العمل الجديدين للمعهد الدولي للبحث والتدريب من أجل النهوض بالمرأة، الوارد في الوثيقة A/54/500 )انظر A/C.3/54/SR.45(.

12. In light of the steady downturn of INSTRAW, the General Assembly, in resolution 54/140 of 17 December 1999, requested the Secretary-General to continue to provide support to the Institute, in particular by setting up a new structure and working method for the Institute and by encouraging voluntary contributions.
12 - وفي ضوء التدهور المطرد للمعهد، طلبت الجمعية العامة في القرار 54/140 المؤرخ 17 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1999، إلى الأمين العام أن يواصل تقديم الدعم للمعهد، وخصوصا في مجال إنشاء الهيكل وأسلوب العمل الجديدين للمعهد، عن طريق التشجيع على تقديم تبرعات.

6. As requested in Economic and Social Council resolution 1999/54, paragraph 2, the Secretary-General, in consultation with the Board of Trustees of the Institute as well as its Director, presented the new structure and working method for INSTRAW, based on the GAINS system, in his report to the General Assembly (A/54/500).

25. In addition to discussion of the issues directly related to the theme of the meeting, the members of the Joint Expert Group reflected on some key questions with regard to further institutional collaboration between the CR and CESCR, and reviewed the monitoring mechanisms and reporting procedures and modus operandi of both the CR and CESCR.
