In section V, paragraph 6, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to hold competitive examinations for the recruitment of language staff sufficiently in advance so as to fill current and future vacancies in the language services in a timely manner, bearing in mind the persistent situation at the United Nations Office at Nairobi, and to inform the General Assembly at its sixty-third session of efforts in this regard.

40. Decides further to defer consideration of 590,000 dollars for a network back-up system at the United Nations Office at Geneva until such time as all viable alternatives have been explored and reported on to the General Assembly;
40 - تقرر كذلك تأجيل النظر في رصد مبلغ مقداره 000 590 دولار لنظام داعم للشبكة في مكتب الأمم المتحدة في جنيف ريثما يتم استكشاف جميع البدائل الممكنة، وإبلاغ الجمعية العامة بها؛

The residual value should be determined and reported to the General Assembly for appropriate action only when such assets were disposed of or otherwise transferred by sale to activities that were not financed from assessed contributions.
