Article 23 of the Convention tasks the secretariat, inter alia, with compiling and transmitting the reports submitted to it; facilitating assistance to affected developing country Parties, on request, particularly those in Africa, in the compilation and communication of information required under the Convention; and preparing reports on the execution of its functions under this Convention and presenting them to the COP.
45- تُكلَّف الأمانة بموجب المادة 23 من الاتفاقية بجملة مهام منها تجميع وإرسال التقارير المقدمة إليها؛ وتيسير تقديم المساعدة إلى الأطراف من البلدان النامية المتأثرة، بناء على طلبها، وبخاصة الموجود منها في أفريقيا، في تجميع وإرسال المعلومات المطلوبة بموجب الاتفاقية؛ وإعداد تقارير عن تنفيذ وظائفها بموجب الاتفاقية وتقديم هذه التقارير إلى مؤتمر الأطراف.

The developed country Parties are invited to ensure that (a) sufficient technical and financial support is provided to the affected developing countries for the compilation and communication of information required under the Convention, in accordance with Article 26, paragraph 7, and (b) higher levels of voluntary funding are provided to UNCCD trust funds to place them in a better position to support the implementation of the Convention.
