وينبغي للمؤسسات المالية الدولية أن تولي اهتماماً أكبر لحماية الحق في العمل في سياساتها الإقراضية واتفاقاتها الائتمانية.

It is notable in this regard that the treaty bodies, particularly the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, have urged international financial institutions to pay greater attention to the protection of human rights in their lending policies, credit agreements and debt relief initiatives.

The international financial institutions, notably the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, should take into account the right to social security in their lending policies, credit agreements, structural adjustment programmes and similar projects, so that the enjoyment of the right to social security, particularly by disadvantaged and marginalized individuals and groups, is promoted and not compromised.
٨٣- وينبغي للمؤسسات المالية الدولية، لا سيما صندوق النقد الدولي والبنك الدولي، أن تراعي الحق في الضمان الاجتماعي في سياساتها المتعلقة بالإقراض، واتفاقاتها الائتمانية وبرامجها الخاصة بالتكيُّف الهيكلي والمشاريع المماثلة()، لكي يتم تعزيز التمتع بالحق في الضمان الاجتماعي وليس التفريط فيه، خاصة بالنسبة للأفراد والفئات المحرومين والمهمشين.

In that regard, the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights considers that the " international financial institutions [...] should take into account the right to water in their lending policies, credit agreements, structural adjustment programmes and other development projects [...], so that the enjoyment of the right to water is promoted " , which, in the opinion of the independent expert, also applies to the right to sanitation.
وفي هذا الصدد، ترى لجنة الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية أنه " يتعين على المؤسسات المالية الدولية [...] مراعاة الحق في الماء في سياساتها المتعلقة بالإقراض، واتفاقاتها الائتمانية وبرامجها الخاصة بالتكيُّف الهيكلي وغيرها من المشاريع الإنمائية [...]، لكي يتم تعزيز التمتع بالحق في الماء " ()، وهو ما ينطبق أيضاً، حسب رأي الخبيرة المستقلة، على الحق في الصرف الصحي.
