One delegation noted that such discussions, if held in good faith, could lead to increased cooperation among States and provide a good opportunity for States, in particular small States, to participate and understand ocean-related issues in preparation for the negotiations of the resolutions of the General Assembly on oceans and the law of the sea and sustainable fisheries.
