والمعايير الوحيدة للعضوية في اللجنة العلمية ينبغي أن تكون معرفة مجموعة واسعة من القضايا في مجال مستويات وآثار الإشعاع؛ والقدرة على جمع التقارير العلمية وإعدادها وتقييمها؛ والقدرة على إيجاز المواد لتقديمها إلى الجمعية العامة والأوساط العلمية والجمهور.

It believed that the sole criteria for membership of the Committee should be sustainable knowledge on a broad range of issues in the field of radiation and the ability to compile and evaluate scientific reports, assess draft scientific documents, and summarize and synthesize the material for the General Assembly, the scientific community and the public.
وتعتقد أن المعيار الوحيد لعضوية اللجنة ينبغي أن يكون المعرفة الدائمة بنطاق عريض من القضايا في مجال الإشعاع والقدرة على تجميع وتقييم التقارير العلمية، وتقدير مشاريع الوثائق العلمية، وتلخيص وتحليل المواد اللازمة للجمعية العامة والأوساط العلمية والجمهور.

12. Requests the United Nations Environment Programme to continue and strengthen, as appropriate, support for the effective conduct of the work of the Scientific Committee and for the dissemination of its findings to the General Assembly, the scientific community and the public;
12 - تطلب إلى برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة أن يواصل تقديم الدعم للجنة العلمية لكي تتمكن من الاضطلاع بأعمالها بفعالية ولكي تقوم بتعميم النتائج التي تخلص إليها على الجمعية العامة والأوساط العلمية والجمهور وأن يعمل على تعزيز هذا الدعم، عند الاقتضاء؛

13. Requests the United Nations Environment Programme to continue and strengthen, as appropriate, support for the effective conduct of the work of the Scientific Committee and for the dissemination of its findings to the General Assembly, the scientific community and the public;
13 - تطلب إلى برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة أن يواصل تقديم الدعم للجنة العلمية لكي تتمكن من الاضطلاع بأعمالها بفعالية ولكي تقوم بتعميم النتائج التي تخلص إليها على الجمعية العامة والأوساط العلمية والجمهور وأن يعمل على تعزيز هذا الدعم، عند الاقتضاء؛

His delegation also supported the Committee's request for continued support from UNEP, which would enable it to perform its functions effectively and inform the General Assembly, the scientific community and the public of its findings, as well as its request to all Member States, United Nations specialized agencies and other international and national scientific bodies to continue to provide reliable information for its reviews.
وأوضح أن وفده يؤيد أيضاً طلب اللجنة باستمرار الدعم من برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة، الذي سيمكِّنها من أداء مهامها بشكل فعّال وإبلاغ الجمعية العامة والأوساط العلمية والجمهور بما تتوصل إليه من نتائج، فضلاً عن طلبها إلى جميع الدول الأعضاء والوكالات المتخصصة التابعة للأمم المتحدة وغيرها من الهيئات العلمية الدولية والوطنية أن تواصل تقديم معلومات موثوقة من أجل استعراضاتها.
