The Conference of the Parties is vested with the responsibility of implementing the provisions of the Convention on Biological Diversity, of reviewing the further development of matters relating to the conservation of biological diversity, the sustainable use of its components, and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the use of genetic resources and, where appropriate, of bringing these within the purview of the Convention.
٦ - وقد أنيطت بمؤتمر اﻷطراف مسؤولية تنفيذ احكام الاتفاقية المتعلقة بالتنوع البيولوجي، واستعراض التطور اللاحق في المسائل المتصلة بحفظ التنوع البيولوجي والاستخدام المستدام لمكوناته والتقاسم المنصف والعادل للفوائد المتأتية عن استخدام الموارد الجينية، وشمول هذه، حيثما كان مناسبا، بأحكام الاتفاقية.

The Treaty's objectives are the conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits derived from their use, in harmony with the Convention on Biological Diversity, for sustainable agriculture and food security (article 1).
113 - وتتمثل أهداف المعاهدة في حفظ الموارد الجينية النباتية واستخدامها المستدام للأغذية والزراعة() والتقاسم المنصف والعادل للمنافع المستمدة من استخدامها، بما ينسجم مع اتفاقية التنوع البيولوجي، من أجل الزراعة والأمن الغذائي المستدامَين (المادة 1).

The adoption of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture by the Conference of FAO in Rome on 3 November 2001 was a major step towards the conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture and the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits derived from their use, in harmony with the Convention on Biological Diversity.
وقد شكّل اعتماد مؤتمر منظمة الأمم المتحدة للأغذية والزراعة للمعاهدة الدولية بشأن الموارد الجينية النباتية من أجل الأغذية والزراعة، في روما، في 3 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2001، خطوة كبيرة نحو حفظ واستدامة استخدام الموارد الجينية النباتية من أجل الأغذية والزراعة، والتقاسم المنصف والعادل للمنافع المترتبة على استخدامها، بما ينسجم مع اتفاقية التنوع البيولوجي.
