The Ministerial Council also took the opportunity to congratulate the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Yemen on having completed the demarcation of their common border, an achievement which represented an important and positive step reinforcing the security and stability of the region.

The Council also reviewed the report of the Secretary-General on measures taken to strengthen cooperation between GCC countries and the Republic of Yemen in this regard.
كما اطلع المجلس على تقرير من الأمين العام عن سير التعاون بين مجلس التعاون والجمهورية اليمنية والخطوات التي تم اتخاذها في إطار المجلس حول الموضوع.

320. The Republic of the Sudan and the Republic of Yemen will commence application of the phased reduction of customs duties and taxes with a similar effect at 16% with effect from 1 January 2005.

In addition, it reviewed the outcome of the visit by the GCC Secretary-General to the Republic of Yemen during the period 7-8 March 2005, including his meeting with senior officials there and his talks with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen, emphasizing that it was important both to continue and to strengthen cooperation between the GCC and the Republic of Yemen.
واستعرض المجلس الوزاري نتائج زيارة معالي الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون للجمهورية اليمنية خلال الفترة 7 - 8 آذار/مارس 2005م، ولقائه مع كبار المسؤولين فيها، ومباحثاته مع معالي وزير الخارجية في الجمهورية اليمنية، وأكد على أهمية استمرار وتعزيز التعاون بين مجلس التعاون والجمهورية اليمنية.

Therefore, the Republic of Yemen would like to reiterate the necessity for the United Nations to continue shouldering its responsibility by supporting the Palestinian people and by playing a major role in the Quartet's efforts to implement the road map, as proposed to both the Palestinian and Israeli parties.
والجمهورية اليمنية بالتالي، تؤكد على ضرورة استمرار الأمم المتحدة في الاضطلاع بمسؤوليتها الدائمة في مساندة الشعب الفلسطيني، والقيام بدور أساسي في الجهود التي تبذلها اللجنة الرباعية لتنفيذ خارطة الطريق، كما طُرحت على الطرفين، الفلسطيني والإسرائيلي، في نهاية نيسان/أبريل عام 2003.

319. At the 14th ordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States in Beirut, it was resolved to exempt the less developed Arab countries from application of the phased reduction in customs duties until 1 December 2005 and that application of this reduction would commence thereupon until 1 December 2010. The Republic of the Sudan and the Republic of Yemen were beneficiaries of this and acceded to GAFTA.
قرر مجلس الجامعة على مستوى القمة في دورته الرابعة عشر ببيروت إعفاء الدول العربية الأقل نمواً من تطبيق التخفيض التدريجي من الرسوم الجمركية حتى 1/12/2005، وأن تبدأ في تطبيق هذا التخفيض من ذلك التاريخ وحتى 1/12/2010، وقد استفادت من ذلك كل من جمهورية السودان، والجمهورية اليمنية وانضمتا إلى المنطقة.

The laws of the Republic of Yemen, in particular the Constitution and the Code of Offences and Penalties, clearly prohibit all forms of torture of any description. Through the Constitution, the Republic of Yemen affirms its commitment to the Charter of the United Nations, the Pact of the League of Arab States, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the generally recognized norms of international law.
من الثابت أن تشريعات الجمهورية اليمنية وعلى وجه الخصوص الدستور وقانون الجرائم والعقوبات قد حرمت تحريماً مطلقاً كافة أشكال التعذيب والجمهورية اليمنية أكدت في دستورها التزامها بما جاء في ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، وبميثاق الجامعة العربية والإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان وقواعد القانون الدولي المعترف بها بصورة عامة.

The Kingdom of Bahrain, the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Yemen have withdrawn reservations on their percentage budget contributions. The Lebanese Republic, the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya and the Kingdom of Morocco have not lifted their reservations on percentage budget contributions.
سحبت كل من مملكة البحرين، والجمهورية الجزائرية، وسلطنة عمان، ودولة قطر، ودولة الكويت، والجمهورية اليمنية تحفظاتها على نسب مساهماتها في الموازنة ولم ترفع كل من الجمهورية اللبنانية، والجماهيرية الليبية، والمملكة المغربية، تحفظاتها على نسب مساهماتها بالإضافة إلى التحفظ الجديد المقدم من جمهورية العراق عن عامي 2005،2006.

This notification has been lodged with the Secretariat-General. 322. The executive programme of GAFTA provides facilities from the Economic and Social Council to ease the accession of the less developed Arab countries, at the request of States wishing to do so. The Republic of the Sudan and the Republic of Yemen have applied for technical support to serve the goal of their accession to GAFTA.
أتاح البرنامج التنفيذي لمنطقة التجارة الحرة العربية الكبرى تقديم تسهيلات من قبل المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي للدول العربية الأقل نمواً لتسهيل انضمامها إلى المنطقة، وذلك بناء على طلب تقدمه الدول الراغبة، وقد تقدمت كل من: جمهورية السودان، والجمهورية اليمنية بطلب دعم فني يخدم أهداف انضمامها لمنطقة التجارة الحرة العربية الكبرى.
