وتنص المادة 15 على وجه الخصوص على أن " تتخذ الدول تدابير فعالة، بالتشاور والتعاون مع الشعوب الأصلية المعنية، لمكافحة التحامل والقضاء على التمييز ولتعزيز التسامح والتفاهم والعلاقات الطيبة بين الشعوب الأصلية وسائر شرائح المجتمع " .
