There is a register for conventional arms, which is the Register of the SecretaryGeneral of the United Nations, and chemical weapons have a particular framework, which is the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and article VII of the Convention on Chemical Weapons, which obliges States parties to furnish annual reports.

12. The CHAIRMAN drew attention to the report of the Working Group on Security Assurances and article VII (NPT/CONF.1995/MC.1/CRP.26) which had been informally adopted on the previous day.

The Preparatory Committee decided to invite the Secretary-General of the United Nations to prepare five papers, dealing with the overall implementation of the tenth preambular paragraph of the Non-Proliferation Treaty; articles I and II; article VI; and article VII; and negative and positive security assurances.
١٥ - قررت اللجنة التحضيرية دعوة اﻷمين العام لﻷمم المتحدة ﻹعداد خمس ورقات تعالج التنفيذ الشامل للفقرة العاشرة من ديباجة معاهدة عدم انتشار اﻷسلحة النووية وكذلك المادة اﻷولى والمادة الثانية والمادة السادسة والمادة السابعة بالاضافة الى ضمانات اﻷمن السلبية والايجابية.

2. The investigation of the alleged use of biological or toxin weapons and assistance in such cases relates to two articles of the Convention: Article VI which deals with the investigation of compliance concerns, and article VII which deals with assistance in the case of the use of biological or toxin weapons.
2- يستند التحقيق في الاستخدام المزعوم للأسلحة البيولوجية أو التكسينية وتوفير المساعدة في تلك الحالات إلى مادتين من مواد الاتفاقية، هما: المادة السادسة التي تتناول التحقيق في شواغل الامتثال، والمادة السابعة التي تتناول توفير المساعدة في حال استخدام الأسلحة البيولوجية أو التكسينية.
