They expressed their appreciation for the Russian Federation's efforts, as well as for the close cooperation between the United Nations missions (UNOMIG and UNMOT) and the CIS peacekeeping forces and for the contribution made by the Russian Federation to the CIS forces.

For certain missions no vacancy factor was applied, owing to either the low number of posts authorized or, at the time of the preparation of the budget estimates, it was assumed that full deployment could be achieved (UNDOF, UNFICYP and UNMOT).

They expressed satisfaction for the close cooperation between the United Nations missions (UNOMIG and UNMOT) and the peacekeeping forces of the Commonwealth of Independent States, and stressed the importance of continued close cooperation and coordination between them.
وأعرب الوزراء عن ارتياحهم للتعاون الوثيق القائم بين بعثتي اﻷمم المتحدة )بعثة مراقبي اﻷمم المتحدة في جورجيا وبعثة مراقبي اﻷمم المتحدة في طاجيكستان( وقوات حفظ السلام التابعة لرابطة الدول المستقلة، وأكدوا أهمية مواصلة التعاون والتنسيق الوثيقين فيما بينها.

2. In paragraph 5 of its report concerning the general aspects of the financing of peacekeeping operations (A/52/860) and paragraph 1 of document A/52/860/Add.8, the Committee indicated that it had postponed consideration of the proposed budgets of MINURSO and UNMOT for the period from 1 July 1998 to 30 June 1999 in view of the pending action by the Security Council.
٢ - وأشارت اللجنـة في الفقـرة ٥ من تقريرهـا عـن الجوانـب العامـة لتمويـل عمليـات حفـظ السـلام (A/52/860) وفي الفقرة ١ من الوثيقة A/52/860/Add.8، إلى أنها قد أجلت النظر في الميزانيتين المقترحتين لبعثة اﻷمم المتحدة للاستفتاء في الصحراء الغربية وبعثة مراقبي اﻷمم المتحدة في طاجيكستان للفترة من ١ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٨ إلى ٣٠ حزيران/يونيه ١٩٩٩ نظرا إلى أن مجلس اﻷمن على وشك اتخاذ إجراء بشأن هاتين البعثتين.

I note in the latter regard that the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic, the United Nations Mission of Observers in Tajikistan and the United Nations Civilian Police Mission in Haiti will all soon be transformed from peacekeeping into post-peacekeeping or peace-building operations.
وفي هذا المجال اﻷخير نلاحظ أن بعثة اﻷمم المتحدة في جمهورية أفريقيا الوسطى وبعثة مراقبي اﻷمم المتحدة في طاجيكستان وبعثة اﻷمم المتحدة للشرطة المدنية في هايتي ستتحول قريبا من عمليات لصيانة لصون السلم إلى عمليات لصيانة السلم بعد انتهاء الصراع وإلى عمليات لبناء السلم.

In conjunction with the ICRC and the United Nations Mission of Observers in Tajikistan, UNHCR will continue to facilitate as far as possible the repatriation and reintegration of the Tajiks remaining in Afghanistan and the internally displaced persons who choose to return to their areas of origin.
