It is the duty of the General Assembly to reiterate the commitment of Member States to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and, in general, to the cause of peace in the Middle East, especially in view of the continued silence of the Security Council on a matter of such importance for international peace and security.
ومن واجب الجمعية العامة أن تكرر التزام الــدول اﻷعضاء بالحقوق الشرعية للشعب الفلسطيني، وبقضية السلام في الشرق اﻷوسط بشكل عام، ولا سيما بالنظر إلى استمرار صـمت مجلس اﻷمــن بالنسبة لمسألة ذات أهمية قصوى بالنسبة للسلم واﻷمن الدوليين.
