In adopting 1325 (2000), the Security Council called upon Member States, the United Nations system, parties to conflict and all other relevant actors to adopt a gender perspective that would take into account the special needs of women during conflict prevention, conflict resolution and peacebuilding.

71. A fundamental obstacle to strengthening women's participation in conflict prevention, conflict resolution and peacebuilding is the novelty of the approach of resolution 1325 (2000) and its departure from the " traditional approach " to brokering peace which only provides opportunities to direct parties to the dispute.
71 - وتتمثل إحدى العقبات الأساسية أمام تعزيز مشاركة المرأة في منع نشوب النزاعات وتسويتها وبناء السلام في حداثة النهج المتّبع في إطار القرار 1325 (2000) وخروجه عن " النهج التقليدي " إزاء التوسط لتحقيق السلام الذي يوفر الفرص في هذا المجال فقط للأطراف المباشرة في النزاع.

(d) In view of the dearth of data, which makes evaluation of progress difficult, all actors involved in conflict prevention, conflict resolution and peacebuilding must make concerted efforts to collect data on all aspects of resolution 1325 (2000);

In its resolution 1325 (2000), the Security Council outlines specific policy measures to strengthen the inclusion of women's perspectives in conflict prevention, resolution and peace-building.
