1. ١٥ - ترحب بقيام الوكالات المتخصصة بتقديم تقارير، بدعوة من اللجنة، عن تنفيذ الاتفاقية في المجالات التي تندرج في نطاق أنشطتها، وبمساهمة المنظمات غير الحكومية في أعمال اللجنة، وتشجع تلك الوكالات على مواصلة تقديم تقارير منها؛

Welcomes and encourages the efforts to establish new nuclear-weapon-free zones in different parts of the world on the basis of agreements or arrangements freely arrived at among the States of the regions concerned, which is an effective measure for limiting the further spread of nuclear weapons geographically and contributes to the cause of nuclear disarmament;
3 - ترحب بالجهود الرامية إلى إنشاء مناطق جديدة خالية من الأسلحة النووية في أنحاء مختلفة من العالم، بناء على اتفاقات أو ترتيبات تتوصل إليها دول المناطق المعنية بمحض إرادتها، مما يعد تدبيرا فعالا للحد من زيادة انتشار الأسلحة النووية جغرافيا ويسهم في قضية نزع السلاح النووي، وتشجع تلك الجهود؛

4. Commends the efforts by the Mediterranean countries in the continuation of initiatives and negotiations as well as the adoption of measures that will promote confidence- and security-building as well as disarmament in the Mediterranean region, and encourages them to pursue these efforts further;
٤ - تشيـد بالجهود التي تبذلها بلدان منطقة البحر اﻷبيض المتوسط لمواصلة المبادرات والمفاوضات، وكذلك باتخاذ تدابير تعزز بناء الثقة واﻷمن ونزع السلاح في المنطقة، وتشجع تلك البلدان على مواصلة بذل تلك الجهود؛

238. The Special Committee welcomes the improvements effected by the Security Council in the holding of private meetings with troop- and police-contributing countries in a timely manner, and encourages those countries to participate actively in the meetings, including by providing assessments and feedback from their troops and personnel on the ground.
238 - وترحب اللجنة الخاصة بالتحسينات التي استحدثها مجلس الأمن بعقده لاجتماعات خاصة في الوقت المناسب مع البلدان المساهمة بقوات عسكرية وبأفراد الشرطة، وتشجع تلك البلدان على المشاركة النشطة في تلك الاجتماعات، بوسائل منها تقديم التقييمات والمعلومات التي تصلها من قواتها وأفرادها في الميدان.

161. The Special Committee recognizes the efforts by the Security Council to hold private meetings with troop- and police-contributing countries in a more timely manner and encourages those countries to participate actively in the meetings, including by providing assessments and feedback from their troops and personnel on the ground.
161 - وتعترف اللجنة الخاصة بالجهود التي يبذلها مجلس الأمن لعقد اجتماعات خاصة مع البلدان المساهمة بقوات عسكرية وأفراد شرطة في الوقت المناسب وتشجع تلك البلدان على المشاركة النشطة في تلك الاجتماعات، بما في ذلك من خلال تقديم التقييمات والمعلومات التي تصلها من قواتها وأفرادها في الميدان.

68. At the 57th meeting, on 26 November, the representative of the United States of America further orally revised the draft resolution by inserting in operative paragraph 6 the words " and encourages those organizations to share knowledge and experience in order to promote best practices in the assistance they provide and in the reporting they make on electoral processes " , after the words " requests for electoral assistance " .
68 - وفي الجلسة 57 المعقودة في 26 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر قام أيضا ممثل الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، بتنقيح مشروع القرار شفويا وذلك بإضافة عبارة " وتشجع تلك المنظمات على تقاسم المعرفة والخبرة من أجل العمل على تطبيق أفضل الممارسات بالنسبة لما تقدمه من مساعدة، وما تعده من تقارير عن العمليات الانتخابية " ، بعد عبارة " لتلبية احتياجات محددة " في الفقرة 6 من المنطوق.

Welcomes the coordination of the Unit with the Board of Auditors and the Office of Internal Oversight Services of the Secretariat, and encourages those bodies to continue sharing experiences, knowledge, best practices and lessons learned with other United Nations audit and oversight bodies as well as with the Independent Audit Advisory Committee;
15 - ترحب بما تقوم به الوحدة من تنسيق مع مجلس مراجعي الحسابات ومكتب خدمات الرقابة الداخلية في الأمانة العامة، وتشجع تلك الهيئات على مواصلة تبادل الخبرات والمعارف وأفضل الممارسات والدروس المستفادة مع هيئات مراجعة الحسابات والإشراف الأخرى في الأمم المتحدة ومع اللجنة الاستشارية المستقلة لمراجعة الحسابات؛

Having said this, my Government expresses very sincere appreciation to those Governments that have already made commitments to providing financial resources to the trust fund to combat HIV/AIDS and encourages those that have not yet done so to please follow suit by doing the same as soon as possible so that the effective fight against the continuing spread of the HIV/AIDS virus can be ensured.
وبعد قولي هذا، فإن حكومتي تعبر عن خالص تقديرها لتلك الحكومات التي تعهدت فعلا بتوفير موارد مالية للصندوق الاستئماني المعني بمكافحة فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية/الإيدز وتشجع تلك الحكومات التي لم تفعل ذلك بعد على أن تحذو حذو الحكومات التي تعهدت فعلا بحيث يمكن ضمان مكافحة فعالة للانتشار المتواصل لفيروس نقص المناعة البشرية/الإيدز.

3. Welcomes the holding of the first inter-committee meeting of the human rights treaty bodies, from 26 to 28 June 2002, to discuss issues of common concern, including issues relating to the methods of work of the treaty bodies, and encourages those bodies to continue this practice in future on an annual basis;
3 - ترحب بالاجتماع الأول المشترك بين اللجان الذي عقدته الهيئات المنشأة بموجب معاهدات حقوق الإنسان في الفترة من 26 إلى 28 حزيران/يونيه 2002 لمناقشة المسائل ذات الأهمية المشتركة، بما فيها المسائل المتصلة بأساليب عمل الهيئات المنشأة بموجب معاهدات، وتشجع تلك الهيئات على مواصلة اتباع هذه الممارسة على أساس سنوي في المستقبل؛

Welcomes the efforts of the Government of Ecuador, the World Meteorological Organization and the inter-agency secretariat for the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction which led to the establishment of the International Centre for the Study of the El Niño Phenomenon at Guayaquil, Ecuador, and to its opening in February 2003, and encourages those parties to continue their efforts for the advancement of the Centre;
" 2 - ترحب بالجهود التي بذلتها حكومة إكوادور، والمنظمة العالمية للأرصاد الجوية والأمانة المشتركة بين الوكالات للاستراتيجية الدولية للحد من الكوارث، والتي أدت إلى إنشاء المركز الدولي لدراسة ظاهرة إلنينيو، في غواياكيل، إكوادور، وافتتاحه في شباط/فبراير 2003، وتشجع تلك الأطراف على مواصلة جهودها لتطوير المركز؛

17. Notes with appreciation the valuable role of the media in the preparations for the Year and in raising awareness of it, and encourages the media, consistent with freedom of expression, to present non-stereotyped images of older persons;

11. Notes with appreciation the work under way by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in assessing the impact of the Uruguay Round on agricultural commodity markets, and encourages the Organization to pursue its work and to inform the General Assembly of its findings;
١١ - تلاحظ مع التقدير العمل الذي تقوم به اﻵن منظمة اﻷغذية والزراعة في تقييم أثر جولة أوروغواي على أسواق السلع الزراعية، وتشجع تلك المنظمة على المضي في عملها وإبلاغ الجمعية العامة بنتائجه؛
