وأعرب المشاركون في الحلقتين الدراسيتين اللتين عقدتا في لا سييبا وتشيانغ ماي عن القلق من وصم ثقافات الأقليات في بعض وسائل الإعلام الرئيسية وعرض تلك الثقافات في صورة نمطية، وطلبوا تشجيع وسائل الإعلام التي تديرها الأقليات.

At the previously mentioned Gaborone and Chiang Mai seminars, the concepts of " minorities " , " ethnic groups " , " ethnic minorities " or " indigenous peoples " were thoroughly discussed and acknowledged as complex issues within the African and Asian regions.

5. From 16 to 23 May 2011, the Special Rapporteur travelled to Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son, in Thailand, to meet with various stakeholders, including representatives of ethnic minority groups, community-based and civil society organizations, diplomats and other experts.

The office participated in IMC field visits to Mondulkiri, Ratanakiri, Kratie and Stung Treng for a series of workshops preparing national policy guidelines, and in two regional workshops including government representatives, NGOs and representatives from indigenous groups from Cambodia, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Viet Nam and Thailand in Phnom Penh and Chiang Mai, Thailand.
وشارك المكتب في زيارات ميدانية قامت بها اللجنة المشتركة بين الوزارات إلى مندلكيري وراتاناكيري وكراتيه وستونغ ترِنغ من أجل عقد سلسلة من حلقات التدارس ﻹعداد مبادئ توجيهية للسياسة الوطنية، كما شارك في حلقتي تدارس إقليميتين عقدتا في بنوم بنه وتشيانغ ماي بتايلند وضمﱠتا ممثلين حكوميين ومنظمات غير حكومية وممثلون من جماعات للسكان اﻷصليين من كمبوديا وجمهورية لاو الديمقراطية الشعبية وتايلند.

At the Thirty-fifth Meeting of HONLEA, Asia and the Pacific, the representative of Thailand informed the Meeting about the International Workshop on Alternative Development that had been organized by Thailand, in cooperation with Peru and in accordance with Commission on Narcotic Drugs resolutions 53/6 and 54/4, and held in the Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai provinces of Thailand from 6 to 11 November 2011.

1. Decides to transmit to the Governments concerned the reports of the regional seminars held in La Ceiba (Honduras), Kidal (Mali), Arusha (United Republic of Tanzania), Gaborone (Botswana) and Chiang Mai (Thailand), drawing to their attention the conclusions and recommendations therein for their observations, if any;
1- يقرر أن يحيل إلى الحكومات المعنية تقارير الحلقات الدراسية الإقليمية المعقودة في لا سَيبا (هندوراس) وكيدال (مالي) وأروشا (جمهورية تنزانيا المتحدة) وغابورون (بوتسوانا) وتشيانغ ماي (تايلند)، مع لفت انتباهها إلى الاستنتاجات والتوصيات الواردة في هذه التقارير، كي تدلي بملاحظاتها، إن كان لديها أي ملاحظات بشأنها؛
