11. In accordance with paragraph 6 of Sub-Commission resolution 1991/17, the Special Rapporteur once again addressed, on 16 December 1991, notes verbales to Governments and letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and to the heads of specialized agencies requesting additional information.

On 26 June 2002, in response to resolution 2002/24, the Secretary-General transmitted a note verbale to States and letters to intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations seeking their comments and views on these three questions.
3- واستجابة للقرار 2002/24، قام الأمين العام، في 26 حزيران/يونيه 2002، بإرسال مذكرة شفوية إلى الدول ورسائل إلى المنظمات الحكومية الدولية والمنظمات غير الحكومية لالتماس تعليقاتها وآرائها بشأن هذه المسائل الثلاث.

1- تنفيذاً لقرار اللجنة 1999/24، أرسلت المفوضة السامية في 21 أيلول/سبتمبر 1999 مذكرات شفهية إلى الحكومات ورسائل إلى الوكالات المتخصصة والبرامج ذات الصلة، والهيئات المنشأة بموجب معاهدات، والمنظمات غير الحكومية، لدعوتها إلى تقديم تعليقاتها واقتراحاتها.

6. 6. In accordance with this resolution, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, acting on behalf of the SecretaryGeneral, sent notes verbales to the Permanent Missions of Member States and letters to intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations inviting them to forward to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights their views and comments on the resolution.

31. Mr. Kourakis (Greece), responding to question 18 on the list of issues, which dealt with racially discriminatory or anti-Semitic articles in the media, said that criminal prosecutions had been initiated in the two cases involving, not articles, but advertisements for apartments and letters to the editor, both with allegedly racially discriminatory content.

2. OHCHR sent a note verbale to Member States and letters to intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, national human rights institutions, the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Special Rapporteur on disability of the Commission for Social Development requesting responses to a set of questions related to the thematic study.

Recommendations contained in the Group's 2012 final report (S/2012/843) were incorporated in Council resolution 2078 (2012), while the Security Council Committee adopted recommendations to send out notes verbales and letters to Member States and relevant United Nations bodies such as MONUSCO.

In compliance with the resolution, notes verbales and letters were sent to all Governments and concerned organizations drawing their attention to the request mentioned above and asking that any information and views relating to these matters be sent to the Centre for Human Rights by 30 September 1994.

Concerns were expressed through press releases and communications to the relevant authorities of several States regarding the imposition of death sentences in violation of international standards guaranteeing the protection of the rights of those facing the death penalty.
