75. In 2001, the General Assembly adopted a resolution in which it decided to establish an Ad Hoc Committee to consider proposals for a comprehensive and integral international convention to promote and protect the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities.
75- وفي عام 2001، اعتمدت الجمعية العامة قراراً أقرت فيه إنشاء لجنة مخصصة للنظر في الاقتراحات الرامية إلى وضع اتفاقية دولية شاملة ومتكاملة لتعزيز وحماية حقوق المعوقين وكرامتهم.

This commitment emanates from a basic understanding that the mandate of the Committee requires consideration of " proposals for a comprehensive and integral international convention to promote and protect the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities " , and that the mentioning of a specific legal instrument does not exclude the Committee from considering other options as well.
وينبع هذا الالتزام من فهم أساسي مؤداه أن ولاية اللجنة تقتضي النظر في " مقترحات من أجل وضع اتفاقية دولية شاملة ومتكاملة تستهدف تعزيز وحماية حقوق المعوقين وكرامتهم " ، وأن الإشارة إلى صكوك قانونية محددة لا يعني الحيلولة دون نظر اللجنة في خيارات أخرى أيضا.
