The present report provides an assessment of the activities and achievement of the Engineering Standards and Design Centre and the Geographic Information System Centre during their first year of operation.

Three Tenant Units (Strategic Air Operations Centre, Geographic Information System Centre and Engineering Standards and Design Centre) would be incorporated under Logistics Services.
وسيتم دمج ثلاث وحدات مستضافة هي (مركز العمليات الجوية الاستراتيجية ومركز نظام المعلومات الجغرافية، ومركز المعايير والتصاميم الهندسية) ضمن الخدمات اللوجستية.

The tenant units now operating at the United Nations Logistics Base are: the Integrated Training Service, the Geographical Information System Centre, the Strategic Air Operations Centre, the Regional Aviation Safety Office, the Engineering Design and Standardization Centre and the Reference Checking Unit.
أما الوحدات المستضافة العاملة حالياً في قاعدة الأمم المتحدة للوجستيات، فهي: دائرة التدريب المتكامل، ومركز نظام المعلومات الجغرافية، ومركز العمليات الجوية الاستراتيجية، والمكتب الإقليمي لسلامة الطيران، ومركز التصميم الهندسي والتوحيد، ووحدة التحقق من الجهات المرجعية.

61. By its resolution 61/277, the General Assembly approved the creation of temporary positions in the Strategic Air Operations Centre, the Geographic Information System Centre, and the Engineering Standards and Design Centre at UNLB.

10. With regard to the tenant units, in paragraphs 12 and 13 of the performance report, the Secretary-General provides information on the activities and support provided by the Strategic Air Operations Centre, the Geographic Information System Centre and the Engineering Standards and Design Centre.

The Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions, in its report A/62/781/Add.12, requested the Secretary-General to submit an analysis of the Engineering Standards and Design Centre and the Geographic Information System Centre in the context of the proposed budget for the United Nations Logistics Base for 2009/10.

Tenant units include the Regional Aviation Safety Office, the Strategic Air Operations Centre, the Training Delivery Cell (renamed Field Training Support Team in February 2008), the Geographic Information System Centre and the Engineering Design Unit.

45. In the Logistics Service, the Secretary-General is proposing conversion of 14 temporary positions, including 12 temporary positions in the former tenant units (Strategic Air Operations Centre, Geographic Information System Centre and Engineering Standards and Design Centre), owing to the continuous nature of the functions of those positions.

Those areas included: Logistics Services, Communications and Information Technology Services, the tenant units (Training Delivery Cell, Regional Aviation Safety Office, Strategic Air Operations Centre, Geographical Information System Centre and Engineering Design Unit) and United Nations Logistics Base Support Services.

The increased requirements are due mainly to the 12 new national General Service staff posts related to the proposed establishment of the Strategic Air Operations Centre, Engineering Design Unit and Geographical Information System Centre at the Logistics Base as well as increased requirements in the Procurement and Transport Sections and the proposed new Office of the Chief Administrative Services.
98 - تعزى الزيادة في الاحتياجات بصفة رئيسية إلى الوظائف الوطنية الاثنتي عشرة الجديدة من فئة الخدمات العامة، المتصلة بالإنشاء المقترح لمركز العمليات الجوية الاستراتيجية، ووحدة التصميم الهندسي، ومركز نظام المعلومات الجغرافية في قاعدة اللوجستيات، وكذلك إلى الزيادة في الاحتياجات في قسمي المشتريات والنقل، والمكتب الجديد المقترح لرئيس الخدمات الإدارية.

The Division coordinates its activities with and provides direction to its counterparts at UNLB, including the Regional Aviation Safety Office, the Geospatial Information Service Centre and the Engineering Standardization and Design Centre.
