46. The two areas of focus -- fisheries and their contribution to sustainable development, and marine debris -- were discussed in depth by panels A and B, as well as in the plenary during the consideration of agenda item 3.

In addition, fisheries and their contribution to sustainable development was one of the areas of focus of the sixth meeting of the United Nations Open-ended Informal Consultative Process on Oceans and the Law of the Sea, held in New York from 6 to 10 June 2005.

The AWG initiated work on the analysis of means that may be available to Annex I Parties to reach their emission reduction targets and identification of ways to enhance their effectiveness and their contribution to sustainable development and to the ultimate objective of the Convention as set out in its Article 2.

The AWG will continue, at its resumed fifth session and at the first part of its sixth session, its work on the analysis of means that may be available to Annex I Parties to reach their emission reduction targets and on ways to enhance their effectiveness and their contribution to sustainable development.

57. " Responsible fisheries and illegal, unregulated and unreported fisheries " and " Fisheries and their contribution to sustainable development " were topics of focus at the first and sixth meetings of the Consultative Process respectively.

The AWG took note of the views and information presented at the workshop, the summary report by the co-chairs (see annex I) and the possible ways to enhance the effectiveness of the means and their contribution to sustainable development that were discussed at the workshop.

The sixth meeting of the Informal Consultative Process focused its discussions on fisheries and their contribution to sustainable development and marine debris, subjects directly relevant to the conservation and sustainable use of marine biodiversity. It adopted a number of elements to be suggested to the General Assembly for consideration at its sixtieth session (see A/60/99).

14. The Conference of the Parties adopted by consensus 29 decisions and 2 resolutions aimed at setting in motion the processes needed to promote the effective global implementation of the Convention and its contribution to sustainable development.
١٤ - واعتمد مؤتمر اﻷطراف بتوافق اﻵراء ٢٩ مقررا وقرارين يرميان إلى البدء في العمليات اللازمة لتعزيز التنفيذ العالمي الفعﱠال للاتفاقية ومساهمتها في التنمية المستدامة.

606. They welcomed the UN General Assembly's adoption of Resolution 68/214 on Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity and its contribution to sustainable development.
606- رحَّب الوزراء باعتماد الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة القرار 68/2014 بشأن تنفيذ اتفاقية التنوع البيولوجي ومساهمتها في التنمية المستدامة.

On the United Nations Open-ended Informal Consultative Process, the draft resolution recalls the decision to review the effectiveness and utility of the Consultative Process at the Assembly's sixtieth session and recommends that the Consultative Process organize discussions around fisheries and its contribution to sustainable development, marine debris and other issues discussed at previous meetings.
وفيما يخص عملية الأمم المتحدة التشاورية غير الرسمية مفتوحة العضوية، يذكّر مشروع القرار بقرار استعراض فعالية وجدوى العملية التشاورية في الدورة الستين للجمعية العامة ويوصي بأن تنظم العملية التشاورية مناقشات حول مصائد الأسماك ومساهمتها في التنمية المستدامة والحطام البحري وقضايا أخرى نوقشت في لقاءات سابقة.
