The Convention also lays the ground for an obligation on the part of States parties to guarantee the victims' relatives the right to know the truth about the circumstances of an enforced disappearance and the fate of the disappeared person.

Paragraph 2 of article 24 of the Convention furthermore states: " Each victim has the right to know the truth regarding the circumstances of the enforced disappearance, the progress and results of the investigation and the fate of the disappeared person.

Within the set of recognized rights, we highlight the right to obtain information on persons deprived of liberty and the right of all victims to know the truth regarding the circumstances of the enforced disappearance, the progress and results of the investigation and the fate of the disappeared person.

14. Several participants emphasized that it was important to mention right of victims to know the truth regarding the circumstances of the enforced disappearance and the fate of the disappeared person.
14- وأكد العديد من المشاركين على أهمية الإشارة إلى حق الضحايا في معرفة حقيقة ملابسات الاختفاء القسري ومصير الشخص المختفي.

3. Each State Party shall take the necessary measures to inform victims of the circumstances of the enforced disappearance, the progress and outcome of the inquiry and the fate of the disappeared person.
3- تتخذ كل دولة طرف التدابير اللازمة كي تعرف الضحايا حقيقة ظروف الاختفاء القسري ومستجدات التحقيق ونتائجه ومصير الشخص المختفي.

The resolution also makes explicit reference to the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance and its article 24, paragraph 2, which sets out the right of victims to know the truth regarding the circumstances of the enforced disappearance, the progress and results of the investigation and the fate of the disappeared person and State party obligations to take appropriate measures in this regard.
كما يشير القرار صراحة إلى الاتفاقية الدولية لحماية جميع الأشخاص من الاختفاء القسري والفقرة 2 من مادتها 24 التي تبين حق الضحايا في معرفة الحقيقة عن ظروف الاختفاء القسري، وسير التحقيق ونتائجه ومصير الشخص المختفي والتزامات الدولة الطرف باتخاذ التدابير الملائمة في هذا الصدد.

The Working Group emphasized that the Convention breaks new ground in the fight against the scourge of enforced disappearances, and recalled that the Convention recognizes the right of all persons affected by enforced disappearance to know the truth about the circumstances of this crime, the progress and results of the investigation, and the fate of the disappeared person.
وأكد الفريق العامل أن الاتفاقية ترتاد آفاقا جديدة على صعيد مكافحة آفة الاختفاء القسري، وأشار إلى أن الاتفاقية تعترف بحق جميع الأشخاص المتضررين من الاختفاء القسري في معرفة الحقيقة عن ملابسات هذه الجريمة، وسير التحقيق ونتائجه ومصير الشخص المختفي.

Article 24(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearances provides that each victim " has the right to know the truth regarding the circumstances of the disappearance, the progress and results of the investigation and the fate of the disappeared person " .
وتنص المادة 24(2) من اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لحماية جميع الأشخاص من الاختفاء القسري على أن " لكل ضحية الحق في معرفة الحقيقة عن ظروف الاختفاء القسري، وسير التحقيق ونتائجه ومصير الشخص المختفي " ().

43.
