واللجنة تكرر توصيتها بأن يقوم اﻷمين العام باستعراض جميع الاستحقاقات والبدلات ومدة أداء الواجب للموظفين العسكريين والمدنيين اثناء تأديتهم الخدمة في عمليات حفظ السلم، وأن يقدم تقريرا عن نتائج هذا الاستعراض إلى الجمعية العامة وفقا للقرار ٤٥/٢٥٨، بغية التحكم في التكاليف المرتفعة للعمليات الكبيرة )انظر A/46/893، الفقرة ١٣؛ و A/46/945، الفقرة ٢٣؛ و A/47/763، الفقرة ٤٤(.

Reiterates its request that the Secretary-General review and develop procedures and norms, including workload analyses, to justify the creation, suppression, reclassification, conversion and redeployment of posts, as contained in section II, paragraph 2, of General Assembly resolution 46/185 B of 20 December 1991, and requests the Secretary-General to report thereon to the General Assembly at its forty-ninth session;

In paragraph 23 of its report (A/49/501), the Advisory Committee recommended that the Secretary-General review the number of locally recruited staff (40) required to support contingent personnel as interpreters and to liaise with the local population with a view to reducing the number, taking into account the Committee's recommended reduction in Professional staff.
٣٩ - طلبت اللجنة الاستشارية، في الفقرة ٢٣ من تقريرها )A/49/501(، أن يقوم اﻷمين العام باستعراض عدد الموظفين المعينين محليا )وعددهم ٤٠( اللازمين لدعم أفراد الوحدات كمترجمين شفويين وأفراد اتصال مع السكان المحليين، وذلك بغية تخفيض هذا العدد، مع مراعاة ما أوصت به اللجنة من تخفيض لعدد الموظفين من الفئة الفنية.
