In that regard, the Meeting agreed that the Office for Outer Space Affairs should analyse the outcome of the World Summit, with the assistance of organizations of the United Nations system, in order to identify recommendations that could be better implemented with the use of space science and technology.

30- وأوصى فريق الخبراء المخصص بأن يقوم مكتب شؤون الفضاء الخارجي بإعداد خطة عمل مفصلة لعام 2007 ولفترة السنتين 2008-2009، استنادا إلى التعهّدات الواردة، وبالتشاور مع ممثّلي الدول التي قدّمت تعهّدات أو التي ستقدّم تعهّدات، فضلا عن ممثّلي الدول الأخرى التي أعلنت اهتمامها بالإسهام في إعداد خطة العمل.

To implement a programme on global navigation and positioning satellite systems, the Office for Outer Space Affairs is organizing regional workshops, training courses and international meetings focusing on capacity-building in the use of GNSS in a variety of applications on land, at sea and in the air.
4- وتنفيذا لبرنامج بشأن النظم العالمية لسواتل الملاحة وتحديد المواقع، يقوم مكتب شؤون الفضاء الخارجي بتنظيم حلقات عمل إقليمية واجتماعات دولية تركّز على بناء القدرات في استخدام هذه النظم في مختلف المجالات التطبيقية برا وبحرا وجوا.

In order to redress the situation, it is thus recommended that a joint African/Middle Eastern leadership conference, at the level of either heads of State or ministers, should be organized by the Office for Outer Space Affairs, with a view to increasing the awareness of space technology development and its impact on social and economic development, preferably before UNISPACE III.

The Subcommittee further noted that, in response to that invitation, the Inter-Agency Meeting had agreed that the Office for Outer Space Affairs should analyse the outcome of the World Summit on Sustainable Development, with the assistance of organizations of the United Nations system, in order to identify recommendations that could be better implemented with the use of space science and technology.
ولاحظت اللجنة الفرعية كذلك أن الاجتماع المشترك بين الوكالات، استجابة لتلك الدعوة، اتفق على أن يقوم مكتب شؤون الفضاء الخارجي بتحليل نتائج مؤتمر القمة العالمي للتنمية المستدامة، بمساعدة من مؤسسات منظومة الأمم المتحدة، من أجل تحديد التوصيات التي يمكن تنفيذها على نحو أفضل باستخدام علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء.

It was agreed that, as a follow-up to the tentative commitments made at the Workshop, the Office for Outer Space Affairs and ECA would send a letter to each of the 87 institutions presenting the background of the network and inviting each one to formally confirm their participation, either as participant or coordinator, in the areas in which they expressed interest.

The Committee noted that the Legal Subcommittee had agreed that the Office for Outer Space Affairs should compile a directory of institutions teaching space law, based on information provided by institutions such as the National Remote Sensing and Space Law Center of the University of Mississippi School of Law, in the United States, the European Centre for Space Law and the International Centre for Space Law in Kyiv.
160- ولاحظت اللجنة أن اللجنة الفرعية القانونية اتفقت على أن يقوم مكتب شؤون الفضاء الخارجي بتجميع دليل للمؤسسات التي تدرّس قانون الفضاء، استنادا إلى المعلومات التي توفّرها مؤسسات مثل المركز الوطني للاستشعار عن بعد وقانون الفضاء التابع لكلية الحقوق بجامعة ميسيسيبـي في الولايات المتحدة والمركز الأوروبي لقانون الفضاء والمركز الدولي لقانون الفضاء في كييف.

At its twenty-eighth session, in 2008, the Meeting agreed that the Office for Outer Space Affairs of the Secretariat, in cooperation with the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and in consultation with other United Nations entities, should prepare a report on the benefits of space science and technology for sustainable development in Africa.
3- وقد اتفق الاجتماع المشترك بين الوكالات في دورته الثامنة والعشرين، عام 2008، على أن يقوم مكتب شؤون الفضاء الخارجي التابع للأمانة العامة، بالتعاون مع اللجنة الاقتصادية لأفريقيا وبالتشاور مع سائر مؤسسات الأمم المتحدة، بإعداد تقرير عمّا تعود به علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء من فوائد على التنمية المستدامة في أفريقيا.

17. He recalled that the report of COPUOS (A/62/20) stated that, in the event that UN-SPIDER did not receive all the regular budget resources requested for 2008-2009, the Office for Outer Space Affairs would present to the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee a reduced workplan for the period 2008-2009.
17 - وأشار إلى أن تقرير لجنة استخدام الفضاء الخارجي في الأغراض السلمية (A/62/20)، ينص على أنه في حال عدم تلقي برنامج الأمم المتحدة " سبايدر " جميع الموارد المدرجة في الميزانية العادية والمطلوبة من أجل الفترة 2008-2009، يقوم مكتب شؤون الفضاء الخارجي بتقديم خطة عمل مخفضة لفترة السنتين 2008-2009 إلى اللجنة الفرعية العلمية والتقنية.

The Meeting further agreed that the Office for Outer Space Affairs should prepare a summary of the report of the Secretary-General on the coordination of outer space activities within the United Nations system (A/AC.105/757) that would provide highlights of inter-agency collaboration in a user-friendly format and that that document should be disseminated widely to policy makers and the general public as a special publication.
واتفق الاجتماع كذلك على أن يقوم مكتب شؤون الفضاء الخارجي بإعداد ملخص لتقرير الأمين العام بشأن تنسيق أنشطة الفضاء الخارجي داخل منظومة الأمم المتحدة (A/AC.105/757) يعرض فيه ملامح التعاون المشترك بين الوكالات في صيغة مريحة للمستعمل وأن يتم تعميم هذه الوثيقة على نطاق واسع على مقرري السياسات وعامة الجمهور كمنشور خاص.
