ومنذ أن تولّى السيد يومكيلاّ مهام منصبه، بادرت اليونيدو إلى إنشاء عدد من أفرقة العمل، وإلى القيام بعملية إعادة هيكلة، وتطبيق سياسة عامة بشأن التنقّل الميداني بالنسبة إلى الموظفين في المقر الرئيسي وفي الميدان.

It congratulated Mr. Kandeh Yumkella on his election as the Board's candidate for Director-General. Mr. Yumkella had played an active part in UNIDO's reform process, and his vast experience would help him rejuvenate the Organization's programmatic activities and achieve greater productivity.
وهنّأت السيد كانديه يومكيلاّ على انتخابه مديرا عاما باعتباره مرشح مجلس التنمية الصناعية، قائلة إن السيد يومكيلاّ قد قام بدور فعال في عملية إصلاح اليونيدو وسوف تساعد خبرته الواسعة في تجديد الأنشطة البرنامجية للمنظمة وتحقيق زيادة في الإنتاجية.

His delegation expressed its gratitude to Mr. Magariños for his work in revitalizing the Organization, and it endorsed the Industrial Development Board's recommendation to appoint Mr. Yumkella as his successor.
23- وأعرب عن امتنان وفده للسيد مغارينيوس لجهوده في إعادة تنشيط المنظمة وقال إنه يؤيد توصية مجلس التنمية الصناعية بتعيين السيد يومكيلاّ خلفا له.

He welcomed the nomination of Mr. Yumkella as new Director-General; Switzerland hoped to enjoy the same close cooperation with him as had characterized its work with Mr. Magariños.
46- ورحّب بتعيين السيد يومكيلاّ مديرا عاما جديدا؛ وقال إن سويسرا تأمل أن تقيم معه نفس التعاون الوثيق الذي كان يتسم به عملها مع السيد مغارينيوس.

44. Mr. Yumkella (Director-General) stressed the importance of focusing on the beneficiaries of UNIDO programmes and said that he wished to draw attention to some projects currently being implemented.
44- السيد يومكيلاّ (المدير العام): شدّد على أهمية التركيز على الجهات المستفيدة من برامج اليونيدو، وقال إنه يود استرعاء الانتباه إلى بعض المشاريع المنفّذة حاليا.

Mr. Yumkella (Director-General) said that, at the request of Member States, UNIDO had sought to increase its links with the Global Environment Facility and UNEP.
60- السيد يومكيلاّ (المدير العام): قال إن اليونيدو قد سعت، بناءً على طلب الدول الأعضاء، إلى زيادة روابطها مع كلٍ من مرفق البيئة العالمية واليونيب.

Mr. RAMZY (Egypt) congratulated Mr. Yumkella on his nomination for the post of Director-General. Egypt welcomed the fact that a distinguished African had been selected to guide UNIDO, since Africans had a major contribution to make.
58- السيد رمزي (مصر): هنّأ السيد يومكيلاّ على تعيينه مديرا عاما، وقال إن مصر ترحّب باختيار أفريقي بارز لقيادة اليونيدو لأن الأفريقيين بوسعهم أن يقدّموا الكثير.

His delegation welcomed the support given by all regional groups to the election of Mr. Yumkella as the Industrial Development Board's candidate for UNIDO Director-General; it hoped that the example thereby set of according equal opportunity to all regional groups to serve in UNIDO's management would be followed in all aspects of organizational decision-making.
86- وفي ختام كلمته قال إن وفده يرحّب بالتأييد الذي جاء من جميع المجموعات الإقليمية لانتخاب السيد يومكيلاّ كمرشح مجلس التنمية الصناعية لمنصب المدير العام لليونيدو، ويأمل أن يتّبع هذا المثال لمنح فرص متساوية لجميع المجموعات الإقليمية للعمل في إدارة اليونيدو في كافة جوانب اتخاذ القرارات التنظيمية.

At its thirty-sixth session, the Board decided to recommend to the Conference the appointment of Mr. Kandeh K. Yumkella as Director-General of UNIDO for a period of four years from the eighth day of December 2009 or until the Director-General to be appointed at the fifteenth regular session of the General Conference assumes office, whichever is later.
وقد قرر المجلس، في دورته السادسة والثلاثين، أن يوصي المؤتمر بتعيين السيد كانديه ك. يومكيلاّ مديرا عاما لليونيدو لمدة أربع سنوات تبدأ في اليوم الثامن من كانون الأول/ ديسمبر 2009 أو إلى حين تولي المدير العام الذي يعينه المؤتمر العام في دورته العادية الخامسة عشرة مهام منصبه، أي التاريخين أبعد.

Mr. Yumkella (Director-General) said that his statement would be longer than usual, firstly because it was three years since he had been elected to the office of Director-General, which warranted his reporting what he and his management had been doing in that time.
8- السيد يومكيلاّ (المدير العام): قال إن كلمته ستكون أطول من المعتاد، أولا لأن ثلاث سنوات مضت على انتخابه مديرا عاما، مما يبرر تقديم تقارير عما قام به هو وإدارته في هذه الفترة.

Mr. Yumkella (Director-General) thanked all members of the Board for the spirit of cooperation which had enabled the session to be conducted in a positive and expeditious manner, saving one day of the scheduled meeting time.
37- السيد يومكيلاّ (المدير العام): شكر جميع أعضاء المجلس على تحلّيهم بروح التعاون التي مكّنت الدورة من أن توفّر بشكل إيجابي وسريع يوما واحدا من الوقت المحدّد للجلسات.

Statement by the Director-General Mr. Yumkella (Director-General) expressed his thanks to the Austrian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the City of Vienna for their support and generosity in making the celebration of UNIDO's fortieth anniversary a success.
