Mr. Fernández Palacios (Cuba), after noting that the Declaration’s adoption in the year of the fiftieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was an important event, said that he wished to reaffirm some of the points made in the joint interpretative statement contained in document A/53/679.

41. States should be encouraged to abide by the Declaration on the Human Rights of Individuals Who Are Not Nationals of the Country In Which They Live.
41- وينبغي تشجيع الدول على الامتثال لإعلان حقوق الإنسان للأفراد الذين ليسوا من مواطني البلد الذي يعيشون فيه.
