1. The present report is submitted in accordance with General Assembly resolution 62/168, in which the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to submit to it at its sixty-third session a comprehensive report on the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Decides to continue its examination of the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran at its sixty-third session under the item entitled " Promotion and protection of human rights " , and to this end requests the Secretary-General to submit to it at that session a comprehensive report on the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Special Rapporteur presented a comprehensive report on the situation in the countries of the region to the Commission on Human Rights on 14 March 1996 and a special report on human rights and the elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 17 July 1996.
وقدمت المقررة الخاصة تقريرا شاملا عن الحالة في بلدان المنطقة الى لجنة حقوق الانسان في ١٤ آذار/مارس ١٩٩٦، وتقريرا خاصا عن حقوق الانسان والانتخابات في البوسنة والهرسك في ١٧ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٦.

At its sixty-fourth session, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to submit a comprehensive report on the situation in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea at its sixty-fifth session, and requested the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to continue to report his findings and recommendations (resolution 64/175).
