17. The decision to create a permanent interpretation service at Nairobi will have a dramatic impact on meeting activities at Nairobi.

It noted with appreciation that there had been steady progress and improvement in the utilization of conference facilities at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) since the establishment of a permanent interpretation service in 2001.
