2. In the light of the provisions of General Assembly resolution 48/141, the Secretary-General proposes to appoint Ambassador Ayala Lasso as High Commissioner for Human Rights, for a term of office of four years, effective 28 February 1994.
٢ - وفــي ضــوء أحكــام قــرار الجمعية العامة ٤٨/١٤١، يقترح اﻷمين العام تعيين السفير أيالا لاسو كمفوض سام لحقوق اﻹنسان، لمدة أربع سنوات، اعتبارا من ٢٨ شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٤.

We particularly want to salute the roles played in this process by the Chairman of the Third Committee, Ambassador Kukan, and the Chairman of the Working Group, Ambassador Ayala Lasso, as well as by Ambassador Chew of Singapore and Ambassador Saboya of Brazil.
