Some delegations drew attention to the 2003 Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission Criteria and Guidelines on the Transfer of Marine Technology, developed in accordance with article 271 of the Convention, and its guiding principle that transfer of marine technology must be conducted on fair and reasonable terms and conditions and enable all parties to benefit, on an equitable basis, from developments in marine science-related activities.
