The international community has repeatedly and unequivocally rejected financial, commercial and economic sanctions imposed on Cuba and on other countries and peoples. That has been expressed in its adoption of many international resolutions passed in the General Assembly of the United Nations in that regard.

On October 2007, The Commission for Equal Rights for People with Disabilities in the Ministry of Justice held a one-day seminar, attended by the Legal Aid lawyers, on the issue of equal rights to people with disabilities, with emphasis on the elderly population, employment issues, integration in the community, integration in the education system and on other legal rights.
