III. Protecting and promoting the rights of the child

The Committee takes note of the adoption of several laws aimed at protecting and promoting the rights of the child, inter alia, the adoption, in 1998, of the Families and Children Act, which reformed and consolidated the legislation relating to families and children, and its amendment in 1999, as well as many other laws and rules, for example on nationality, social security, trafficking in persons, etc.
