The analysis and recommendations to facilitate the Assembly's review of mandates, requested in paragraph 163 (b) of the outcome document, will be the subject of a separate report later this month.

105. Excessively burdensome reporting obligations are a problem throughout the United Nations system, as emphasized in my recently released report entitled " Mandating and delivering: analysis and recommendations to facilitate the review of mandates " (A/60/733).

The President: In accordance with paragraph 163 (b) of General Assembly resolution 60/1 of 16 September 2005, the Assembly has before it a report of the Secretary-General, entitled " Mandating and delivering: analysis and recommendations to facilitate the review of mandates " , contained in document A/60/733.

In his report on mandating and delivering: analysis and recommendations to facilitate the review of mandates (A/60/733), the Secretary-General had asked Member States to give serious consideration to the fact that duplication and overlaps could occur because of the nature of funding and the increasing role of non-core funding.

As reflected in the report of the Secretary-General entitled " Mandating and delivering: analysis and recommendations to facilitate the review of mandates " , there is a need to strengthen the internal institutional mechanisms put in place, such as capacity-building, methodologies, and tools, the impact on activities and outcomes, the commitment at the policy and management levels and human and financial resources allocated.
