The report considers the scope and legal status of existing initiatives and standards on the responsibilities of transnational corporations and related business enterprises with regard to human rights as well as outstanding issues that require further consideration by the Commission.

6. The present report refers to the term " Responsibilities of transnational corporations and related business enterprises with regard to human rights " by the short hand term " business and human rights " .
6- ويشير هذا التقرير إلى مصطلح " مسؤوليات الشركات عبر الوطنية ومؤسسات الأعمال المرتبطة بها في مجال حقوق الإنسان " بالمصطلح المختصر " الأعمال التجارية وحقوق الإنسان " .

With this in mind, the following section identifies " outstanding issues " in order to assist the Commission in identifying " options for strengthening standards on the responsibilities of transnational corporations and related business enterprises with regard to human rights and possible means of implementation " , as stipulated by decision 2004/116.
26- ومراعاة لما سبق، يحدد هذا الباب " القضايا المعلقة " قصد مساعدة اللجنة في حصر " الخيارات المتاحة لتعزيز المقاييس المتعلقة بمسؤولية الشركات عبر الوطنية ومؤسسات الأعمال المرتبطة بها في مجال حقوق الإنسان وسبل التنفيذ الممكنة " ، على نحو ما نص عليه المقرر 2004/116.

The report reviews the scope and legal status of existing initiatives and standards on the responsibilities of transnational corporations and related business enterprises from a human rights perspective, noting that there are gaps in understanding the nature and scope of those responsibilities.
