The Regional Centre plans to further expand its efforts to provide practical assistance to States in the region, upon their request, especially in the areas of training, technical assistance and other forms of capacity-building, in particular regarding the challenges posed by the illicit trafficking in small arms and light weapons, as well as the implementation of Security Council resolution 1540 (2004) and the arms trade treaty.
