Concerning the emerging jurisprudence of the United Nations Dispute Tribunal and the United Nations Appeals Tribunal, his delegation noted that all elements of the new system must operate in accordance with the Charter and the legal and regulatory framework that had been approved by the General Assembly.

The legal authority of the resolutions of the General Assembly was reaffirmed in paragraph 9 of resolution 65/251, in which the Assembly stressed that " all elements of the new system of administration of justice must work in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and the legal and regulatory framework approved by the General Assembly " .
