9 - تشير أيضا إلى قرارها 50/202 المؤرخ 22 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1995 الذي أحاطــت فيـــه علما مع الموافقــة بتعديــل الفقــرة 1 مــن المادة 20 من الاتفاقية الذي لم يبدأ سريانه بعد، وتحث الدول الأطراف في الاتفاقية التي لم تقبل هذا التعديل حتى الآن على أن تفعل ذلك؛

The draft resolution calls upon all States to consider signing and ratifying the Optional Protocol as soon as possible and urges States parties to put in place appropriate national legislation, as necessary, to enable the effective implementation of the Optional Protocol.
ويهيب مشروع القرار بجميع الدول أن تنظر في توقيع البروتوكول الاختياري والتصديق عليه بأسرع ما يمكن، ويحث الدول الأطراف على سنّ تشريعات وطنية مناسبة، حسب الحاجة، للسماح بتنفيذ البروتوكول تنفيذا فعالا.
