الخلاصة ٢٥ - كما يتضح مما تقدم، فإن اﻷمانة العامة قامت، على الدوام، بانتهاج سياسة تهدف إلى تشجيع تعلم واستعمال اللغات الرسمية ولغتي العمل في المنظمة في جميع أنشطتها.

As we celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the United Nations, there is a need to set the record straight by stressing the equal importance that the official and working languages of the General Assembly should enjoy in international life.

٣١ - وفيما يتصل بالتدريب، ذكﱠرت عدة وفود بقرار الجمعية العامة ٥٠/١١ المؤرخ ٢ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر ١٩٩٥ بشأن تعدد اللغات، الذي شدد على ضرورة تأمين الموارد البشرية والمالية الكافية لمواصلة تعليم اللغات الرسمية ولغتي العمل في اﻷمانة العامة على جميع المستويات.

In this respect, the Inspectors note that since the JIU is a subsidiary body of the General Assembly it should make use of all the official and working languages of the General Assembly, instead of English being de facto the sole working language of the Unit.
