At the twenty-fifth meeting of the Open-ended Working Group, the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel reported to the Parties that none of the technologies had made progress which would warrant their inclusion in the list of approved destruction technologies.

Accordingly, at the Sixteenth Meeting of the Parties a request had been made for a review of those " emerging " technologies to determine whether, three years later, some of them warranted consideration for addition to the list of approved destruction technologies.
