24. International human rights law also requires States to take measures to eliminate harmful cultural and traditional practices and all other practices that are based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either sex, or on stereotyped roles for women and men.
24- ويقتضي القانون الدولي لحقوق الإنسان من الدول أن تتخذ أيضاً تدابير للقضاء على الممارسات الثقافية والتقليدية الضارة وجميع الممارسات الأخرى القائمة على فكرة دونية أو تفوق أحد الجنسين، أو على أدوار نمطية للنساء والرجال.

85. Turkmenistan is taking all appropriate measures to modify the social and cultural patterns of conduct of men and women, with a view to achieving the elimination of prejudices and customary and all other practices which are based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles for men and women.
85- تتخذ تركمانستان جميع التدابير المناسبة لتعديل الأنماط الاجتماعية والثقافية لسلوك الرجل والمرأة لتحقيق القضاء على التحيزات والعادات العرفية وكل الممارسات الأخرى القائمة على فكرة دونية أو تفوق أحد الجنسين أو على أدوار نمطية للرجل والمرأة.

139. " All appropriate measures shall be taken to educate public opinion and to direct national aspirations towards the eradication of prejudice and the abolition of customary and all other practices which are based on the idea of the inferiority of women. " (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, art. 3)

Article 5 of the Convention calls on States parties to take all appropriate measures to modify the patterns of conduct of men and women " with a view to achieving the elimination of prejudices and customary and all other practices that are based on the idea of the inferiority or the superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles for men and women " .
وتدعو الاتفاقية في مادتها 5 الدول الأطراف إلى أن تعتمد جميع التدابير المناسبة لتعديل أنماط سلوك الرجال والنساء، ' ' بهدف تحقيق القضاء على التحيزات والعادات العرفية وكل الممارسات الأخرى القائمة على الاعتقاد بكون أي من الجنسين أدنى أو أعلى من الآخر، أو على أدوار نمطية للرجل والمرأة``.

States are further required to take steps to eliminate prejudices and change practices which are based on the idea of the inferiority or superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles for men and women.
ويتعين على الدول كذلك أن تقوم بخطوات للقضاء على التحيزات والعادات العرفية وكل الممارسات الأخرى القائمة على الاعتقاد بكون أي من الجنسين أدنى أو أعلى من الآخر، أو على أدوار نمطية للرجل والمرأة().

Most of the practices that are based on the idea of the inferiority of the woman, gender based violence, determination of roles, and attitudes between the sexes can be observed during the time the girl is born, brought up, puberty, marriage, adulthood, and even death.
ومعظم الممارسات التي تستند إلى فكرة دونية المرأة وإلى ممارسة العنف على أساس نوع الجنس وإلى تحديد الأدوار والمواقف بين الجنسين يمكن ملاحظتها خلال الفترة الزمنية التي تولد فيها البنت ويتم تنشئتها إلى أن تبلغ سن الحيض ثم تتزوج وتصل إلى مرحلة النضج والاكتهال بل وحتى وفاتها.
