Following the approach indicated in his note of 3 December 1992 (A/47/753), the Secretary-General initiated the restructuring of the economic and social sectors of the Secretariat, which was reflected in the revised estimates (A/C.5/47/88) that he submitted to the General Assembly at its resumed forty-seventh session in March 1993 and approved by the Assembly under the terms of its resolution 47/212 B of 20 May 1993.
