3. In its resolution 47/1 of 22 September 1992, the Assembly similarly indicated that it considered that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) could not continue automatically the membership of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in the United Nations.

Furthermore, this Security Council resolution and General Assembly resolution 47/1 state that " the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) cannot continue automatically the membership of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in the United Nations, and therefore decides that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) should apply for membership in the United Nations ... " .

Reaffirms that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) cannot continue automatically the membership of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in the United Nations; and therefore recommends to the General Assembly that, further to the decisions taken in resolution 47/1, it decide that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) shall not participate in the work of the Economic and Social Council;
١ - يؤكد من جديد أنه لا يمكن أن تواصل جمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية )صربيا والجبل اﻷسود( بصورة تلقائية عضوية جمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية الاشتراكية السابقة في اﻷمم المتحدة ويوصي من ثم الجمعية العامة بأن تقرر، الحاقا بالمقررات المتخذة في القرار ٤٧/١، أن لا تشارك جمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية )صربيا والجبل اﻷسود( في أعمال المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي،

This position was reaffirmed in Security Council resolution 777 (1992), which further notes " that the State formerly known as the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia has ceased to exist " and " that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) cannot continue automatically the membership of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in the United Nations " .

2. In its resolution 777 (1992) of 19 September 1992, the Security Council indicated that it considered that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) could not continue automatically the membership of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in the United Nations.
2 - وقد أوضح مجلس الأمن في قراره 777 (1992) المؤرخ 19 أيلول/سبتمبر 1992 أن جمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية (صربيا والجبل الأسود) لا يمكن أن تواصل تلقائيا الاحتفاظ بعضوية جمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية الاشتراكية السابقة في الأمم المتحدة.

General Assembly resolutions 47/1 and 47/229 affirmed that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) could not continue automatically the membership of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, but they were the result of a political compromise and contained many legal contradictions.
فالقراران 47/1 و 47/229 اللذان قررت الجمعية العامة بموجبهما أن جمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية (صربيا والجبل الأسود) لا تستطيع أن تواصل تلقائيا عضوية جمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية الاشتراكية يعكسان تسوية سياسية تنطوي بحد ذاتها على تناقضات قانونية.
