On 28 May 1997, the Special Rapporteur transmitted an urgent appeal on behalf of Abdel Moumen Belanes and Rachida Ben Salem to which the Government replied on 29 August 1997.
٩١٤- في ٨٢ أيار/مايو ٧٩٩١، أحال المقرر الخاص نداء عاجلا بالنيابة عن عبد المؤمن بيلانس ورشيدة بن سالم وهو نداء ردت عليه الحكومة في يوم ٩٢ آب/أغسطس ٧٩٩١.

Rachida Ben Salem had reportedly been arrested with her two daughters on 18 May 1997 in the Ben Guerdane district, as she was preparing to cross the Libyan border to join her husband, a refugee in the Netherlands.
٠٢٤- وأفيد بأن رشيدة بن سالم قد قبض عليها مع ابنتيها في يوم ٨١ أيار/مايو ٧٩٩١ في منطقة بنقردان فيما كانت تستعد لعبور الحدود الليبية للالتحاق بزوجها وهو لاجئ في هولندا.

According to the Government’s reply, Rachida Ben Salem had been arrested on 26 May 1997, had suffered no ill-treatment, and had been brought before the examining magistrate on 30 May 1997.
وأفاد رد الحكومة بأن رشيدة بن سالم كان قد قبض عليها في يوم ٦٢ أيار/مايو ٧٩٩١ وأنها لم تتعرض ﻷي سوء معاملة وأنها مثلت أمام قاضي التحقيق في يوم ٠٣ أيار/مايو ٧٩٩١.

On 23 May 2013, the State party submitted that Ali Ben Salem had alleged that he had been the subject of a violent attack on 26 April 2000 while accompanied by Jalal Ben Yazbek Alzoglami, Siham Ben Sedreen and Altayeb Alneaman.

The Rapporteur reminded the Ambassador that the State party has contested the Committee's findings in four out of the five cases against it and has failed to respond to requests for follow-up information in the fifth case, case No. 269/2005, Ali Ben Salem.
وذكّر المقرر السفير بأن الدولة الطرف اعترضت على استنتاجات اللجنة في أربع قضايا من أصل خمس قضايا موجهة ضدها وتخلفت عن الرد على طلبات تقديم معلومات متابعة في القضية الخامسة، وهي القضية رقم 269/2005، على بن سالم.
