It thanked the United Nations Population Fund for its contribution to the activities of the Regional Conference; and requested the competent funds, programmes and specialized agencies to make their contributions, as appropriate, to the activities to be carried out by the Regional Conference.

" The Security Council calls again upon all States to act in accordance with the conclusions of the summit meeting of the leaders in the subregion in Nairobi in January 1995 and the recommendations by the Regional Conference on Assistance to Refugees, Returnees and Displaced Persons in the Great Lakes Region, held in Bujumbura in February 1995.

Recalling the Programme of Action12 adopted in May 1996 by the Regional Conference to Address the Problems of Refugees, Displaced Persons, Other Forms of Involuntary Displacement and Returnees in the Countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Relevant Neighbouring States,

In February, OHCHR participated in the seminar on the human rights of migrant populations, organized by the Regional Conference on Migration in Tegucigalpa.

(a) To carry out the tasks assigned to them by the Regional Conference on Social Development in Latin America and the Caribbean;

In 2011, the OHCHR regional office continued to promote a human rights approach to migration through regional forums such as the seminar on the human rights of migrant populations, organized by the Regional Conference on Migration in Tegucigalpa from 9 to 11 February 2011;

Reiterates that the Plan of Action adopted by the Regional Conference on Assistance to Refugees, Returnees and Displaced Persons in the Great Lakes Region, held at Bujumbura from 15 to 17 February 1995, as endorsed by the General Assembly in its resolution 50/149 of 21 December 1995, continues to be a viable framework for the resolution of the refugee and humanitarian problems in that region;

The Steering Group is the main intergovernmental monitoring body, composed of Member States, intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental organizations, set up to evaluate the progress made in the implementation of the Programme of Action adopted by the Regional Conference in May 1996 (see A/51/489, para. 10).
